This week marks one year since we made Barracuda Essentials for Office 365 available to the public. It's been well received and we couldn't be happier with progress and performance of this solution.

According to Microsoft, Office 365 is a subscription service that “refers to subscription plans that include access to Office applications plus other productivity services that are enabled over the Internet (cloud services).” In addition to the familiar productivity software like Excel and Word, Office 365 offers SharePoint, OneDrive, Skype, and more. It was launched in 2011 for business only, and eventually added home and individual user options. Office 365 now holds the largest market share of cloud productivity suites.

Barracuda Essentials provides additional layers of security to catch malware
and phishing attempts which elude basic Exchange Online Protection (EOP),
and includes a number of features that are optional with EOP.
Advanced Threat Detection, anti-typosquatting protection, link protection and
email encryption, are all included at no extra charge.
