Barracuda security included in Microsoft Azure Government

Druckfreundlich, PDF & E-Mail

Microsoft has just released Azure Government, a public cloud computing service for federal, state, local and tribal U.S. governments.  The service has been in preview since March of this year, and is now generally available for government consumers.

Microsoft Azure Government is a physically separate set of Azure instances with a variety of limited access in order to meet various government security standards and requirements.  It is restricted so that only government agencies and related organizations can run their solutions in the Azure government cloud.  The service complies with FedRAMP, ITAR, CJIS, HIPAA, and other requirements by government units.

We were there for the launch in Washington DC this week.  There were about 300  attendees, and speakers and presenters included Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Microsoft Federal CTO Susie Adams, and Microsoft Senior TSP John Harvey.  This is a very exciting launch for us because Barracuda is currently the only security solution available in the Azure Government Gallery.

We've had a longstanding relationship with Microsoft as one of the first security providers available in Azure.  We were one of the first security solution providers in the Azure Gallery, and we even had our 15 minutes of fame at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference when Scott Guthrie announced the Azure certification process and used the Barracuda WAF to demonstrate how easy it is to use the platform.  Today we offer a full suite of solutions for Azure, and our Barracuda WAF and NG Firewall are now available in the Azure Government Image Gallery.

Barracuda solutions get a shout out from Susie Adams and John Harvey during Azure Government presentation.
